A world that streams
Terrain and high-resolution imagery load dynamically around your vehicle as you explore, transitioning smoothly through distance-based levels of detail.
Real landscapes. Roads worth exploring. BeamNG Earth brings a streamed, 1:1 scale world to BeamNG.drive — from familiar city avenues to untracked mountain passes.
Your next drive doesn’t have to end at the edge of a map.
BeamNG Earth is a real-world map mod for BeamNG.drive, developed by TecnaGamer. It uses elevation data and satellite imagery to build a streamed version of Earth at 1:1 scale. Instead of choosing a small, fixed map, you can explore places from across the world in the driving simulator.
The project is in beta and under active development. Coverage is global in ambition, using high-resolution national LiDAR where available and Copernicus 30m DEM elsewhere. The accuracy and level of detail dynamically match the data available for each visited region.
From a familiar street to a road you’ve never seen, BeamNG Earth gives every trip a different starting point with full real-time vehicle simulation.

Mapped roads, highway bridges, animated oil pump jacks, and building footprints turn raw geographic telemetry into real drivable asphalt and dirt trails.
Use the in-game world map to search for any latitude and longitude, teleport across continents, plot GPS navigation routes, and test Autodrive mode.
BeamNG Earth combines the game mod with a companion world server on your computer. The server prepares map data and streams the surrounding world into BeamNG.drive as you move.
It uses terrain elevation, satellite imagery and mapped features to construct the landscape. Because the world is assembled from real data, results can differ between regions and loading may take time, especially after travelling to a new place.

Assembles terrain chunks, filters structures, aligns elevations, and manages local cache.
Soft-body physics simulation, tire traction, 3D foliage and road collisions streamed in real-time.
BeamNG Earth needs an installed copy of BeamNG.drive, the appropriate companion app and an internet connection for new map data. Check the developer’s current instructions and release notes for platform support and compatibility before starting.
Make sure BeamNG.drive is installed and check the version listed in the release notes.
Find the appropriate player download on the official GitHub releases page.
Use the developer’s setup instructions to start the app and enter the map.

For optimal frame rates in complex metro areas, consider allocating an SSD for the mod cache directory.
No. BeamNG Earth is a map mod for BeamNG.drive, so you need the game as well as the mod’s companion app.
The project aims to cover the planet at 1:1 scale. Map data, terrain quality and road detail vary between places, and some areas may not be represented accurately.
No. BeamNG Earth runs alongside an installed copy of BeamNG.drive; this website is a guide and does not run the game.
The world server downloads map data as needed. Previously downloaded data can be cached, but an internet connection is needed to retrieve new areas.
The project supports multiplayer through BeamMP, currently in testing. Players need the BeamNG Earth app and a compatible version to join.
